PROJECT PROPOSAL: Endless Continuum: Redefining Architecture for Consumerism
Endless Continuum boldly re imagines architecture in the context of consumerism by building upon the visionary theories of Archizoom, Reynar Banham, and Rem Koolhaas. This architectural project manifests through an engaging essay and a captivating model, showcasing the intertwined relationship between service space and consumer culture.
ARCHITECTURAL THEORIES. Archizoom’s No-Stop City serves as the foundation for Endless Continuum, envisioning an urban fabric seamlessly integrated with consumer activities. This project expands upon this concept, embracing the non-stop nature of consumerism in modern society.
Inspired by Reynar Banham’s A Home is Not A House, Endless Continuum emphasizes the importance of service spaces that facilitate everyday activities. These spaces become the backbone of the project, catering to the ever-growing demands of consumers.
Incorporating Rem Koolhaas’ Junkspace, Endless Continuum celebrates the abundance of consumer culture. It challenges the boundaries between order and chaos, reflecting the intricate complexities of contemporary society.
ENDLESS CONTINUUM: CONCEPT & DESIGN: Endless Continuum materializes as a vast architectural complex, blurring the lines between commercial spaces and service infrastructure. The model showcases interconnected spaces dedicated to various aspects of consumer culture.
Service spaces take center stage, acting as the circulatory system sustaining the consumer-driven society. HVAC ductwork becomes an aesthetic feature, intertwining and sculpturally defining the spaces, blurring the line between infrastructure and architecture.
Embracing infinite expansion, Endless Continuum challenges physical limitations. Spaces transform and reconfigure to accommodate evolving consumer demands, embracing growth without boundaries.
